So, how did this anthology come about? We're glad you asked...

In November of 2009, when the inaugural online Comics Experience writing class ended, all thirteen of the students agreed we should create a print anthology of our stories. To do this, we'd have to find artists, get the stories lettered, create a cover, figure out how to print it...and agree on many other details.

How many stories start out like this -- with the best of intentions -- and go nowhere? Or lose momentum and break down? Or half the people involved disappear? Or at least a couple people drop out, miss the deadline, etc.?

I'm happy to report, none of those things happened. The Tales from the Comics Experience anthology is here! Eighty pages, thirteen writers (every person who took the class), along with a group of talented artists showcasing a wide variety of styles and stories.

It was more than four months of work, but the trade paperback is now available through DCBS. It comes complete with a great cover by Richard P. Clark, and a Foreword by Comics Experience founder and instructor, Andy Schmidt.

Below is a full list of all the contributors, with a sample panel from each story. (Click on any picture for a larger view.)

If you're interested in new writers and artists, or just get a kick out of anthologies, give it a look!
